ASADABAD (Pajhwok): Pakistani forces once again fired at least 18 rockets into eastern Kunar province, hitting several villages, police said on Friday.
The rockets fired from across the border in Pakistan landed in Zarah Barol, Kachlai and Shinkai areas of border town Dangam late on Thursday night, Kunar police Brig. Gen. Abdul Habib Syedkhel told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said the shelling had caused residents financial losses, but there were no casualties. He said the rockets were of long-range and asked the government to retaliate to the periodic cross border shelling in cooperation with the international community.
He said residents of districts near the Pakistani border lived in a constant fear due to the shelling.
Kabul has repeatedly asked Islamabad to stop Pakistani security forces from shelling Afghan villages. A large number of people have been killed, maimed and displaced as a result of these firings.
