ASADABAD (Pajhwok): An International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) unmanned aircraft crashed in the Mori area of Shigal district in eastern Kunar province on Saturday, an official said.
The unmanned aircraft was on a surveillance mission when it came down due to technical problems, Abdul Habib Sayedkhel, provincial police chief, said.
The International Security Assistance Forces (ISAF today. There were no reports of enemy forces in the area at the time of the incident.”
International Security Assistance Force officials are reviewing the incident and more information will be released as appropriate. ISAF addes.
However, both the Taliban and Hizb-i-Islami Afghanistan (HIA) led by Gulbadin Hikmatyar claimed of shooting down the ISAF’s spy plane.
Last month, drone strike killed 17 Taliban fighters in Kunar province.
