18 rebels killed in Ghazni blast, airstrike

GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Eighteen militants have been killed during an airstrike and a bomb blast in southern Ghazni province, an official said on Saturday.

Five insurgents were killed in the Adi area of Deh Yak district when the landmine they were planting exploded, the governor’s spokesman, Shafiq Nang, said.

Another nearly a dozen rebels perished in a NATO airstrike in the Alizo area of Andar district last night.

ISAF has so far said nothing about the airstrike.

Also in the Andar town, an Afghan National Army (ANA) soldier and two Taliban fighters were killed during a clash in Nani area last night, Nazifullah Sultani, a spokesman for the 203rd Thunder Military Corps in Ghazni, said.
