1 ANA soldier dead, 2 injured in blast

PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): One Afghan National Army (ANA) soldier was killed and two others were injured on Wednesday when their vehicle struck a roadside bomb in central Logar province.

Col. Abdul Wali Toofan, the deputy police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident occurred at around 8:00am in the Sharfgan locality on the outskirts of Mohammad Agha district centre.

The landmine exploded when a convoy of Afghan security forces was passing through the area, he said, adding the wounded soldiers were in stable condition.

As usual, the Taliban claimed responsibility for the bomb attack. The group’s spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said four soldiers had been killed in the blast.
