MAIMANA (Pajhwok): Three civilians, including a young woman, were killed and nearly a dozen others wounded on Wednesday when a powerful blast rocked the capital of northern Faryab province, officials said.

The blast took place on the Ludin Road, about 300 metres from the Governor’s Office at around 9am, police spokesman Syed Massoud Yaqubi told Pajhwok Afghan News. 

Public Health Director Dr. Abdul Ali Halim said the dead included two men and a 22-year-old woman. Three women and a child were among the 11 people injured in the blast. The wounded are said to be in stable condition.
