2 policemen killed in Zabul suicide blast

QALAT (Pajhwok): Two policemen were killed and as many wounded in a suicide attack in southern Zabul province on Wednesday evening, the provincial police chief said.

Brig. Gen. Ghulam Sakhi Rogh Lewanai told Pajhwok Afghan News the suicide bomber detonated his explosives when the car he was travelling in was stopped for a security check.

The incident happened on the Zabul-Kandahar highway in Pul-i-Sangi area on the outskirts of Qalat, the provincial capital, at about 7.00pm. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack that took place two days after a suicide bomber detonated his explosives before reaching his target.

One civilian was killed and another was wounded in that incident.
