Militants shot dead an official of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) in the Kala Sabz locality on the outskirts of Ghazni City, the provincial capital, Governor Spokesman Shafiq Nang told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Separately, commander of the Afghan Local Police (ALP) for Dehyak district was killed in Taliban ambush and wounded his guard. Nang said the incident occurred in the Ramk locality when ALP officials were patrolling the area.
In Helmand, nine rebels were killed during clearing operation in the Loymanda locality, Police Spokesman Col. Abdul Ahad Chopan said.
The operation was launched following a tip off that militants were planning to stage attack on security forces.
