FIROZKOH (Pajhwok): Commander of an armed group in the Dowlina district of western Ghor, residents said on Sunday.
A week ago, bloody clash erupted between two illegal armed commanders, Arbab Atta and Abdul Samad, at Siachob locality on the outskirts of district, resulting in the killing of Atta, his son and his nephew.
District Administrative Chief Muhammad Hussain Danishyar said, the killing of Atta’s promoted his gunmen to besiege 15 families of Samad. He said the gunmen had full control of the area and local officials could not interfere.
Col. Abdul Hadi Chaghalpoori, crime branch chief, said the fight was the result of personal enmity between the two groups.
He added security forces were tasked to rush to Siachob area some 40 kilometres from capital of Dowlina district and prevent the fighting.
