KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): The governor said on Tuesday millions of afghanis were drawn for the development of various districts under the National Solidarity Programme (NSP) but the money was not spent properly.
Dr. Toryalai Weesa made the remarks at a meeting arranged to ensure transparency in NSP projects across the province. He stressed the need to control corruption in the schemes.
In NSP projects, corruption and other anomalies could be identified by the villagers who supervise most of the schemes, the governor believed.
He asked workers of the NSP to ensure transparency and quality of the projects in the larger interests of the people.
Haji Niamatullah, provincial council member, Eng. Abdul Qayyum, rural development director, Muhammad Rahim Rahimi, director of economy, Haji Sayed Ali, the Spin Boldak district chief, and others attended the meeting.
