KABUL (Pajhwok): Amid a full-scale military operation, a US drone strike in the embattled North Waziristan Agency (NWA) left 20 insurgents dead on Wednesday, Pakistani media reported.
Intelligence sources told local media the latest drone attack took place in Dattakhel area where the unmanned aircraft fired missiles on a compound in Saidgai locality. The missiles left 20 people dead and the house completely damaged.
The officials said that four missiles were fired from the drone and the death toll could surge. Reports said that one of the missiles hit a vehicle, which left some militants dead.
However, identity of the slain militants could not be immediately verified. Earlier, on July 10, a similar strike left six insurgents dead in North Waziristan. The Pakistani military is conducting an offensive in the area to flush out foreign militants and their local collaborators.
