ASADABAD (Pajhwok): Pakistani troops have fired a new barrage of rockets into three districts of eastern Kunar province, an official alleged on Friday.

As many as 79 rockets had landed in Dangam, Shigal and Marawara districts, police chief Brig. Gen. Abdul Habib Syedkhel told Pajhwok Afghan News.

He said the rocket strike, which began last night and continued until 10am on Friday, wounded a child in Dangam.

Forests have also been damaged in the frequent cross-border attacks, leaving hundreds of families displaced.
