KABUL, the military claimed on Tuesday.
The Pakistan Army conducted the strikes in the Kokikhel area of Tirah Valley in Khyber and in different parts of North Waziristan near the Afghanistan border, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
It said 30 suspected militants were killed, nine vehicles and several motorcycles belonging to them were destroyed by the army’s Cobra gunship helicopters in North Waziristan. Eighteen rebels were eliminated in Khyber.
North Waziristan Agency has been the scene of a full-scale military operation since mid-June. The offensive was launched after a militant attack on Karachi’s international airport and failure of peace talks between the government and the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan.
According to media estimates, about a million people have fled the offensive against militant strongholds in Waziristan. Tens of thousands of residents have migrated to Khost province and other parts of Afghanistan.
ISPR said five militant hideouts were destroyed in Khyber agency and seven in Waziristan in the strikes which were conducted as a part of the ongoing military operation codenamed Zarb-e-Azb.
