FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): One civilian has been killed and two others have been wounded by police in Ferozkoh, the capital of western Ghor province, an official said on Friday.
Brig. Gen. Ahmad Fahim Qaim, the provincial police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the shot at on their way to a wedding party last night.
Counternarcotics police asked the three men travelling in a car to stop, but they disregarded the signal, the police officer said. In ensuing gunfire, one was killed and two others injured.
He added the four policemen involved in the shooting had been detained. They are currently under investigation.
Ghor Civil Hospital Director Dr. Juma Gul Yaqubi confirmed receiving a dead and two injured people. One of the critically injured man was later referred to Kabul, he said.
Najibullah, a resident of Aalndar village, said: “My nephew was traveling along with two of his friends to a wedding ceremony. They were all common people with no links to any group.” He urged the authorities to investigate the incident and prosecute the culprits.
