<p>KUNDUZ CITY/SHIBERGHAN (Pajhwok): Two pro-government fighters and six militants have been killed in northern provinces of the country, officials said on Monday.</p>

<p>The government supporters were killed during an overnight <a href="/en/taliban" class="glossify-link">Taliban</a> attack in the Muradyan district of Jawzjan province, police officer Col. Abdul Manaf Raufi told Pajhwok Afghan News.</p>
<p>He said the attack in Chlik district, lasting two hours, was repulsed after police reinforcements arrived in the area.</p>
<p> But Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed destroying two Afghan Local Police (ALP) check-posts in the area. He did not comment on casualties.</p>
<p>Mohammad Karim, a resident of the locality, said the slain individual were members of an uprising group that had purged the area of militants.</p>
<p>Elsewhere, six insurgents were killed and four others wounded during a clash with security forces in the Dasht-i-Archi district of Kunduz province.</p>
<p>Police regained control of a lost post and seized four Kalashnikovs, a machine gun and one rocket in the clash. Police spokesman Syed Sarwar Hussaini confirmed the incident.</p>
<p>On the other hand, the Taliban claimed killing of seven ALP officials in the attack.</p>
