ZARANJ (Pajhwok): At least six people of a family, including three children, have been wounded in a mortar attack in the Khashrod district of southwestern Nimroz province said, an official said on Tuesday.
The mortar fired by the Afghan National Army (ANA) hit a house in the Shash Aba locality, resulting in the civilian causalities, Mohammad Hashim Noorzai, the district chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said the incident took place at around 10:00pm on Monday night. The injured were evacuated to hospital.
Juma Khan, the victims’ relative, said Taliban and security forces were trading fire and one of the mortars hit the residential compound. However, the ANA has not yet commented on the incident.
