KABUL (Pajhwok): The Hindukush Eagles have edged past Maiwand Club in a hotly-contested football encounter, storming into the semifinals of the Premier League here.
Hindukush Eagles won Thursday’s match on penalty kicks by 8-7 at the Football Federation Stadium in Kabul, organisers said. Thousands of fans watched the match.
As the stipulated 90-minute time ended in a draw, the two sides were given 30 minutes extra time, scoring one goal each. But Hindukush Eagles had the bitter of their rivals in the penalty shootouts.
Later on Friday, Spin Ghar Falcons are to take on Shaheen Asmai. The winners will play against Hindukush Eagles in the semis of the event, featuring eight teams.
