MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): The Kazakhstan government has delivered $800,000 aid to victims of natural calamities in northern Afghanistan, officials said on Friday.
The food and winter clothing aid was delivered, brought in 16 containers, was handed over to relevant authorities in Jawzjan and Badakhshan provinces.
Ali Musa, the Kazakhstan disaster management chief, delivered the assistance. He told Pajhwok Afghan News they had always come to the rescue of the Afghans in such situations. He said the $800,000 aid included milk, warm clothes, cooking oil and flour.
Eng. Sakhi, an official at the Badakhshan governor’s office, welcomed the assistance, hoping Kazakhstan’s gesture of goodwill would help alleviate the suffering of victims of recent floods and deadly landslides.
