ASADABAD (Pajhwok): A National Directorate of Security (NDS) operative has been killed in a landmine explosion in eastern Kunar province, an official said on Saturday.
Brig. Gen. Abdul Habib Said Khail, the provincial police chief, told Pajhwok News the blast happened in Qamachi village of Watapur district on Friday afternoon.
He said that Muhammad Ghani, the NDS agent, and his son were on their way to a mosque to offer Juma prayer when the explosive device went off. His son was wounded.
As usual, the Taliban insurgents claimed responsibility for the remote-controlled bombing.
