MAIMANA/PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Separate incidents of violence have claimed the lives of two policemen and a Taliban commander in the northern Baghlan and north western Faryab provinces, officials said on Monday.
A government official, who wished not to be names, told Pajhwok Afghan News that a landmine killed two border policemen and injured two others in the Almar district of Faryab.
A Taliban commander was reported dead and two of his fellows wounded in an exchange of fire in the Garziwan district. Abdul Razzaq Kakar, the district chief, said Kamal Baradar was Taliban’s shadow police chief.
Meanwhile, a roadside bomb in Pul-i-Khumri, the capital of Baghlan province, injured three policemen. The bombing occurred in Larzanak area.
