KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Four policemen were wounded in a bomb blast in southern Kandahar province, where the militants hanged a civilian, on Wednesday, an official said.
The roadside bomb exploded hit a Public Order Police vehicle on the Kandahar-Helmand highway in the Khak-i-Chopan area of Maiwand district this morning.
At least four police personnel were wounded, one of them seriously, in the explosion claimed by Taliban, the governor’s spokesman, Samim Khpalwak, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
In the same district, the spokesman claimed, the insurgents had hanged a civilian at the Rasul Neeka tomb in Shamir Kala area. But he gave no further details.
A shopkeeper in the area, Noor Ahmad, said the man was handed after being brought out of home. The lynching incident is currently under investigation.
