KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): Three civilians were injured on Monday when a bomb blast ripped through an Afghan National Army pick-up vehicle in the capital of northern Kunduz province, police said.
The blast took place at around 11am in the second police district of Kunduz City in front of a jewelry market, police spokesman Syed Sarwar Hussaini told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said the bomb had been planted beneath the army vehicle, which was comprehensively damaged, leaving two civilians injured.
But an eyewitness, Mir Alam claimed three civilians, including a child and two men, were injured in the blast. The injured were taken to hospital by security personnel, he said.
He said the blast occurred near a square, where young boys played egg-fight and other games during Eid days.
It was the third bomb attack targeting an ANA vehicle in Kunduz during the past 10 days. The previous two explosions had left nine people, including women and children, injured.
