Kunduz revenue advisor wounded in blast

KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): An advisor at the revenue department of northern Kunduz province and his two companions were injured when a magnetic bomb fixed to their vehicle went off on Monday, an official said.

The bomb exploded when advisor Zahir Khanzada left his house and sat in his car around 8:30am, injuring him, his driver and a third person, police spokesman Syed Sarwar Hussaini told Pajhwok Afghan News.

The wounded were immediately evacuated to a health facility run by Doctors Without Borders in Kunduz City.

Two of the injured were in critical condition, Hussaini said, without giving details if Khandzada was among them.

An eyewitness Syed Agha said, “When we heard the blast, we immediately rushed to the scene and saw a vehicle burning.” He said police took three wounded occupants of the vehicle to hospital.

The fire was extinguished by firefighters. No one has so far claimed responsibility for the incident.
