MAHMOOD RAQI (Pajhwok): Eight armed rebels have been killed and six others wounded during a search operation in the Tagab district of central Kapisa province, officials said on Friday.
Abdullah Talwar, the Kapisa police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the week-long operation ended today. A policeman was also injured during the offensive.
He said central and southern areas of Tagab had been wrested back from the fighters as a result of the action.
But Khyber, a local resident, questioned the police chief’s claim and said armed rebels, who fled the operation, had come back to the area to resume their activities.
