MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): One person was killed and three others were injured in a gas cylinder explosion in Mazar-I-Sharif, the capital of northern Balkh province, on Sunday.
The incident took place around noon when a gas cylinder exploded inside a shop in the Bakhtar Bazaar area of Mazar-I-Sharif, police spokesman Sher Jan Durrani told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said one civilian was killed and three others were wounded in the blast. However, eyewitness Mohammad Rassoul said the explosion was triggered by a bomb. Six shops were damaged by the powerful blast, he added.
