KABUL (Pajhwok): Kabul police on Thursday warned illegal sellers of military uniform sellers would be detained and their shops closed down if they did not return such items within three days.
The police headquarters said an operation would be initiated for collecting the military uniforms from Kabul markets. The decision comes as a number of criminals are found using military uniforms.
The latest such incident occurred in the Paghman district of the capital, where a number of armed robbers stopped civilian cars, snatched valuables from their occupants and raped four women.
Kabul police said that some irresponsible individuals and criminals misused the military uniforms and committed criminal actions that also disrupt security situation of residents.
They had been trying to curb the illegal sale of military uniforms and equipment at markets in Kabul, a police statement said, adding: “This time, we will seriously enforce the ban on such sales. The sellers have been given a three days deadline to hand over the items to security organs.”
It added that those failing to comply with the order would be detained and their shops closed. Mobile teams have increased patrols of all parts of Kabul to maintain security and relevant organs have been asked to punish the criminals.
