KABUL (Pajhwok): Six people have been killed and more than 50 others wounded in two separate road accidents, officials said on Friday.
A passenger bus collided head-on with a police vehicle on the Kabul-Mazar highway in Pul-i-Khumri the capital of Baghlan province, this morning.
Baghlan police spokesman Javed Basharat told Pajhwok Afghan News the collision happened in Arman area at about 10am, killing three people.
At least 48 passengers including 22 children and seven women were wounded in the crash, according to the police spokesman, who said a woman was among the dead.
The injured were evacuated to the Pul-i-Khumri Civil Hospital, Basharat said, blaming both drivers for carelessness that led to the tragedy.
In a separate incident, a car veered off the road in the Sarobi district of Kabul. Eyewitness Abdul Saboor said three people were killed and six others wounded.
