AIBAK (Pajhwok): Four civilians have been killed during a clash between two groups in the Pashtunkot district of northwestern Faryab province, officials said on Friday.
Police spokesman Syed Massoud Yaqubi told Pajhwok Afghan News the firefight erupted in Aimaq area late on Thursday. Full details of the incidents are not yet available.
But another official said on condition of anonymity said four civilians, including a woman and a boy, also lost their lives in the clash. Another five people were wounded.
According to the source, the exchange of gunfire has stopped due to intervention from local elders. However, he feared the area remained in grip of tension.
