PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Police seized 40 weapons from a truck carrying commercial goods from Pakistan in northern Baghlan province, an official said on Saturday.
The seizure came before noon in Shamraq locality on the Baghalan-Kunduz highway, provincial police chief Brig. Gen. Aminullah Amarkhail told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said the weapons were recovered after the truck was stopped for a search at a police check post. Four people had been taken into custody in connection with the weapons, he said.
The truck was among several vehicles loaded with commercial goods from Pakistan en route to northern Kunduz province, Amarkhail said.
Last month, police captured one and a half tonnes of explosives in Baghlan.
