KABUL’s under-19 cricket team defeated Malaysia by 10 wickets in their opening match in the Under-19 Premier Asia Cup that got underway in Kuwait on Sunday, an official said.
The six-nation cup features Cup scheduled to take place in Bangladesh in 2016.
Afghanistan Cricket Board spokesman Farid Hotak told Pajhwok Afghan News that Malaysia won the toss and chose to bat first in the 50-over game.
The Malaysians lost all wickets in the 32nd over, piling up 101 runs, thanks to Rashid Khan’s six wicket haul.
The Afghans easily chased the 202-run target without losing any wicket in the 10th over, Hotak said, adding openers Hazrat Zazi contributed quick fire 66 runs and Shahidullah 33 runs.
