CHARIKAR drone strike killed and wounded several insurgents in the Siagard district of central Parwan province, officials said on Monday.
Police chief Brig. Gen. Mohammad Zaman Mamozai told Pajhwok Afghan News they had so far no exact information about the number of insurgents killed and wounded in the drone strike.
However, he said several militants had been killed and wounded in the strike that took place during an Afghan army’s commando operation in the Ghorband area.
A local police commander in Siagard district said the dead insurgents included their two commanders named Suhrab and Salam.
He said in an unrelated incident, a Taliban commander, Abdul Hakim, was injured and his friend killed as a result of infighting in the Sheikh Ali district.
