JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Half a dozen insurgents, including a commander, have been killed in separate incidents in eastern Nangarhar and southeastern Paktika provinces, officials said on Sunday.
Four militants were killed in a NATO airstrike in the Lora area, Paktika police chief Brig. Gen. Nabi Mullakhel told Pajhwok Afghan News.
A third insurgent was killed and another wounded by Special Afghan Security Forces unit during in operation in Pirkotai area of Urgun district.
In Nangarhar, a rebel commander was killed and his four accomplices injured in a blast caused by their own explosives in the Haska Mena district.
Police chief Brig. Gen. Fazl Ahmad Sherzad told Pajhwok Afghan News the blast took place in the Baba Ghar area. The dead rebel commander was a resident the Chaparhar district.
The injured included another commander, Lakhkar Shah, who was among the four others seriously injured in the blast, the police chief said.
