KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): A major ring road was inaugurated on Monday after its reconstruction with financial assistance from Germany in northern Kunduz province, an official said.
The 9-kilometer road ‘s repair work cost $6 million provided by Germany and took 18 months to complete, Mayor Najibullah Omarkhael said.
Residents welcomed the reconstruction and said it would help reduce traffic hazards in the provincial capital.
A day earlier, Kunduz elders evaluated the performance of the previous government at a gathering.
They asked the new government to address their concerns about security and reconstruction process.
