3 policemen killed in Logar bombing

PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): A bomb blast killed three policemen, including two officers, in the Barak-i-Barak district of central Logar province on Wednesday afternoon, an official said.

A fourth policeman was injured in the blast that ripped through their vehicle in the Rajan area at about 2pm, provincial deputy police chief Col. Abdul Wali Tofan told Pajhwok Afghan News.

The blast comprehensive destroyed the police pick-up vehicle, he said.

The district chief, Mohammad Rahim Amin, said the police were on a patrol in the area when came under attack.

He said the dead policemen included two officers and that the injured policeman had been taken to hospital.

The Taliban have claimed responsibility for the blast, saying it killed four policemen.
