Body formed to investigate fraud in elections

KABUL (Pajhwok): Chairman of the Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) said Saturday a committee had been formed to investigate officials allegedly involved fraud and rigging in the April elections.

Addressing a press conference, Abdul Sattar Sadaat said, the newly-formed committee would be headed by Nader Mohseni and other IECC officials.

The committee would investigate the officials and personnel from both the IECC and the Independent Election Commission (IEC). He pledged legal action would be taken against those proved guilty.

Sadaat said the committee would work in coordination with the attorney general’s office.
