Casualties as bomb rocks Khogyani mosque

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Several people were killed and wounded on Friday afternoon when a bomb exploded inside a mosque in the Khogyani district of eastern Nangarhar province.

Niamatullah Nawrozi, the district chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the blast occurred at 1.15pm inside a crowded mosque in Khogyani bazaar. At least 15 worshippers were killed or injured, he said.

Dr. Noor Agha, in charge of the district hospital, confirmed receiving a number of dead bodies and injured individuals from the site. However, he gave no specific casualty figures.
