JALALABAD (Pajhwok): A would-be suicide bomber surrendered to border police in the Goshta district of eastern Nangarhar province on Sunday, an official said.
The bomber had been tasked with conducting a suicide attack at the Behsud or Kama bridge, border police commander Gen. Fazal Din Ayar told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Identified as Mohammadullah, the attacker is linked to the Zarqawi Group, whose members are allegedly trained for suicide bombings in Pakistan.
Ayar said: “This young man has realised that killing one individual amounts to killing all human beings. And that’s why he chose to surrender.”
Mohammadullah confessed to receiving training along with five others on suicide attacks in Pakistan. “On introspection, I decided to surrender instead of killing fellow Muslims.”
