ASADABAD (Pajhwok): Two Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers were killed and as many wounded as a result of an explosion in eastern Kunar province on Saturday, an official said.
The explosion took place early morning in Bargam area of Ghaziabad district targeting ANA convey heading towards the district headquarters of Nari, Cap. Haroon Yousafzai, spokesman of the 201st Selab corps, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The explosion, he said was followed by gun battle between security forces and rebels which resulted in the killing of some assailants.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed responsibility for the attack and said that several ANA soldiers had been killed in the incident.
