KABUL (Pajhwok): The new Kabul police chief on Saturday sought cooperation from high-ranking government officials and citizens to bring security to the city.
Speaking at a press conference here, Maj. Gen. Abdul Rahman Rahimi said despite a lot of efforts police alone could not bring full security in this critical situation.
Residents should join hands with police in realising the objective, stressed Abdul Rahman, who replaced Gen. Zahir as Kabul police chief last Wednesday.
He added boosting the level of coordination between police, army and intelligence agencies would be his top priority.
He intends to meet members of parliament, provincial councils, civil society and district police chiefs to discuss the situation and listen to their recommendations.
He added in the last 24 hours, police had detained 14 individuals on charges of involvement in different crimes.
