TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Four suspected militants were killed while roadside bombs in Uruzgan and Khost provinces, the authorities said on Monday.
Uruzgan crime branch chief Gulab Khan told Pajhwok Afghan News two insurgents planned to plant landmines in the provincial capital.
Based on a tip-off, police ambushed the men in Nachin area and shot both dead. Police seized three explosive devices, he said, adding the militants belonged to Kandahar province.
Separately, the Ministry of Defence said in a statement two rebels were blown up by their own explosives in the Gurbaz district of Khost.
