CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): A mass-marriage ceremony for 50 couples was held in Charikar, the capital of central Parwan province, on Thursday, the head of a charity said.
Haji Khairuddin Mayel, the Gul Agha Parwani organisation head, told Pajhwok Afghan News 35 couples from the provincial capital while the rests from other districts tied the knot at the ceremony.
Twenty guests of each couple were allowed, he said, adding the organisation had arranged 60 percent of stuff and shopping for the newly-wed. A total of 15 million afghanis were spent on the mass-marriage ceremony.
