KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): More than 100 policemen on Thursday graduated from a military training and another 129 from a driving course in southern Kandahar province.
Police Training Centre commander Gen. Nasrullah Zarifi, Traffic Police chief Col. Mohammadullah Khan and others officials attended the graduation ceremony.
Gen. Nasrullah said the militarily trained police would be stationed in Kandahar City, the provincial capital, and districts to assist security forces in improving security.
Besides the military training, the graduates also received necessary knowledge about the country’s Constitution, human rights, duties and responsibilities of police and laws during the two-month training.
Afghan trainers took charge of the Police Training Center in Kandahar after foreign forces withdrew.
The traffic police chief said 129 policemen learnt driving skills to use vehicles with the police department usage during the two-week course.
He urged the driving certificate holders to respect traffic laws and look after the vehicles under their use.
Officials say so far more than 50,000 police have graduated from military training at the Police Training Center of Kandahar.
