KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghan national powerlifting athletes have won six medals, including four golds, at the 2026 World Cup Series in Belarus.
In a statement, the Olympic Committee and General Directorate of Physical Education and Sports said Afghan athletes secured four gold medals, one silver and one bronze at the event.
Fawad Sherin Sukhan, Jabir Sherin Sukhan, Noor Ahmad Sakhizada and Mirwais Rafizadeh won gold medals, while Rohullah Khairandesh claimed silver and Hamidullah Hakimi took bronze.
A total of six Afghan athletes and one coach participated in the competition.
The tournament, hosted by Belarus with athletes from 10 countries, ran from May 6 to May 10.
