FARAH CITY/KANDAHAR (Pajhwok): Three policemen were killed during separate security incidents in western Farah and southern Kandahar provinces, officials said Monday.

One Afghan Local Police (ALP) member was killed and a civilian wounded in a bomb blast in Pusht Rood district of Farah, the district chief Ghausuddin told Pajhwok Afghan News.

The incident took place when a planted bomb went-off in Barangak village of the district late on Sunday, he said, recalling three days back, the son of an ALP commander lost his two legs in a similar incident in the village.

According to another report two policemen were killed by militants in Kandahar province. Samim Khpalwak, the governor’s spokesman, said two policemen were killed when two masked motorcyclists opened fire on them in the 7th police district of Kandahar City.

He said that another policeman was wounded in a similar attack in the third police district late on Sunday.
