KABUL’s southwestern province of Balochistan on Monday.
Dozens of insurgents stormed the Frontier Corps (FC) checkpoint in the Mekhtar area of Loralai district with rockets and gunfire, a private news channel reported.
DawnNews, monitored here, said several attackers were wounded in retaliatory fire from the paramilitary troops. The assailants managed to flee after the attack.
Reinforcements were sent to the area, where helicopters were used to track down the militants. Balochistan has been in the grip of militant-linked violence for more than a decade.
