KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): A pro-government cleric has been killed in a bomb explosion inside a mosque in southeastern Khost province, an official said on Friday.
Maulvi base near the provincial capital on Thursday night.
A security official, who did not want to be named, told Pajhwok Afghan News the mosque was partially damaged as a result of the explosion ahead of Isha prayers.
Meanwhile, acting governor Abdul Wahed Patan confirmed the killing of the religious scholar, who repeatedly condemned suicide attacks as un-Islamic.
