KABUL (Pajhwok): A militant commander was among four fighters killed by Afghan soldiers in the central province of Uruzgan on Friday, an official said.
Provincial government spokesman Dost Mohammad Nayab told Pajhwok Afghan News another four insurgents were wounded in the Afghan National Army (ANA) ambush.
He said the soldiers attacked the Mullah Juma Gul-led group, which prepared to storm offices of a road construction company in Deh Rawud district at 6pm.
The soldiers also seized a heavy machine-gun and three assault rifles from the militants. Gul had allegedly been involve in attacks on Afghan forces.
