Blast at female police checkpoint kills 1 in Herat

HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): One policeman was killed and a second wounded in a bomb blast in western Hrat province on Wednesday.

The bomb exploded inside a women’s police checkpoint near the Islam Qala port around noon, the provincial police spokesman said.

Col. Abdul Rauf Ahmadi told Pajhwok Afghan News no civilian was hurt in the incident. There was no immediate claim of responsibility.
