KABUL National Wushu team won 13 medals including gold, silver and bronze in the West Asian Championship held in Iran.
The event was held in Zahidan City where Wushu athletes from Iran, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Pakistan and Lebanon participated.
According to a statement from the National Olympic Committee received by Pajhwok Afghan News, Afghan athlete Khalid Hotak won the gold medal and secured first position by beating his rivals in the match.
Afghan athletes Nasim, Nasratullah Habibi, Mohamamd Salim, Zaman and Abdul Malik Noorzai won silver medals by defeating their rivals, the statement added.
It said Mahfooz Wafa and Jawad Ghuljai, another Afghan player won the bronze medals.
The Afghan sportsmen Ameer Muradi, Hussain Ghafoori and Mohammad Bashiri playing in Talo matches also won three medals of bronze and two silvers medals.
After Iran and Uzbekistan, Afghan team secured third position among the 10 countries participated in the event.
