KABUL of the dwellers.
They warned to launch series of protests if their demand to relocate the gravel and bitumen making factories from the area.
There are 400 factors including kiln brick factories with one bitumen producing factory active near Tara Khel locality of Deh Sabz.
Abdul Hamid, a resident of the locality, told Pajhwok Afghan News hundreds of children faced with health risks and some were already suffering from breath problems. “Tara Khail residents have become extremely unhappy over the dust and smoke of the factories.”
He added the factories even had negative impact on agricultural products in the area. Production of grapes, he said, had decreased as compared to previous years.
Haji Mohammad Tawab, another resident said: “Tara Khel residents did not suffer as much from terrorism that they suffered from these factories.”
He said each household had at least one member suffering from illness due to the smokes.
Tawab said the production of grapes also in their locality had drastically decreased. “If the government is not going to take action we have no choice but to protest.”
