MAIDAN SHAHR (Pajhwok): After six-month delay, the provincial council of central Maidan Wardak province on Tuesday appointed its administrative board, an official said.
Attaullah Khogyani, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the Independent Election Commission (IEC) conducted the polls.
He said 15 council members, IEC chief Niamatullah Wardak, the acting governor and some other officials were present on the occasion.
Wardak said a majority of council members were present, paving the ground for holding the administrative board elections.
Haji Ahmad Jafari was elected as head, Massoud Shneezai as deputy and Nafisa Silay Wardak as secretary of the council. The board promised efforts for serving the people.
